| The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)-Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and the Oakland Conservation District (OCD) are partnering on a Great Lakes Restoration Initiative grant to address phosphorous loading in the Kearsley Creek, Thread Creek, and Swartz Creek watersheds in northwestern Oakland County. These watersheds cover most of Holly, Groveland and Brandon townships of Oakland County. The partnership is to lower the phosphorus levels in these three watersheds and will be primarily targeting farmers as well as people with horses, livestock, orchards, greenhouses, large scale vegetable and fruit growers. There will be practices available for cost sharing in the near future. Continue to review this website, look for news in the local media, township fliers, etc. |
